We’re also looking for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, knows how to prioritize tasks and can work independently as well as part of a team.
 
What you will do…

  • Instruct students for the purpose of improving their success in academic and social-emotional skills through a defined course of study
  • Lesson Planning
  • Assessment
  • Meetings and communicating with treatment staff, foster parents and other teachers
  • Additional tasks assigned
                                                                                               
Additional Skills and Competencies you’ll need…
  • Plan a program of instruction that is challenging, experiential and differentiated and that meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of each student.
  • Employ a variety of educational techniques in pursuit of educative goals and establishes clear objectives for each student.
  • Prepare teaching materials and reports (e.g. grades, attendance, anecdotal records, etc.) for the purpose of implementing lesson plans and providing documentation of teacher and student progress.
  • Collaborate with school and treatment personnel, foster parents and various community agencies for the purpose of improving the quality of student outcomes, developing solutions and planning curriculum
  • Provide a safe and optimal learning environment
  • Monitor student activities (e.g. classroom, lunch, grounds, etc.) for the purpose of providing a safe and optimal learning environment
 
Education and Experience you need…
  • Accredited Bachelor’s Degree with a major in one or more of the following areas: Education, Mathematics, Special Education (Math related).
  • Valid Oregon/Washington Teaching License (must be Highly Qualified for Math instruction).
  • Skills to motivate students, communicate with individuals from varied educational and cultural backgrounds, direct support personnel, evaluate performance.
  • Knowledge of age appropriate teaching methods, state curriculum framework, education code, appropriate instructional subjects.
