Manager – Transportation Division

Provides leadership and direction for the operation, maintenance, personnel management, and capital improvement of transportation operations including all City-owned rights-of-way. Provides oversight of projects, preparation of bid documents, and other instruments as may be necessary to such capital improvements.
Any Equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the duties and responsibilities of the job. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills, and abilities would be:
High School graduate or equivalent GED, post graduate training in construction methods and safety practices complying with state and federal regulations, and Street construction standards policy of APWA as regards streets. Previous experience handling equipment and tools.
Minimum of four (4) years prior experience in Street operation, construction, maintenance and/or design of Street systems, preferably two (2) years of which are in a supervisory capacity in construction and operations and maintenance. Experience with both hot-mix asphalt concrete and chip seal applications. Experience driving trucks and operating heavy equipment desired.
LICENSE OR CERTIFICATES:
Valid commercial driver’s license at the time of hire is desired. Class A CDL with Tanker endorsement required within 1 year.
$64,383.79 to $79,274.95 annually
Plus generous benefit package that includes medical, dental, vision and retirement contributions of 13.5% of base wage after one year of employment.
